Brad Yordy ’05
Executive Director of Alumni and Parent Relations
As the Executive Director of Alumni and Parent Relations, Brad oversees the University’s Alumni and Parent Relations efforts, including Homecoming and Family Weekend, Heritage Weekend, and various alumni engagement programs. Prior to returning to Taylor in June of 2019, Brad served as the Athletic Director for Eastbrook Community Schools for eight years. Brad is married to Dr. Kelly (Peters ‘05) Yordy, who works and teaches in Taylor’s Master of Arts in Higher Education program. Brad and Kelly live in Upland with their three kids: Max, Molly and Mason.
Joyce (Harrison ’81) Wood
Senior Director of Parent and Community Relations
Joyce has served at Taylor for well over three decades, and after many years she transitioned from University Relations and Marketing to the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations. She has specific responsibility for serving parents and families through communication and events to engage current students with their families and the greater Taylor family. Other responsibilities include caring for community relationship building with local organizations and entities, Taylor retirees and loyal servants and Parents Council, along with extensive event planning for the University. Joyce is passionate about Taylor, having been raised in a TU faculty family. A Taylor graduate, she strives to provide creative and engaging communication and events. She is married to David Wood, also a Taylor employee, and enjoys travel, decorating, reading, spending time with family and church friends, and serving the community. They are parents to Jason Wood and grandparents to teenagers Ethan and Jared, Crown Point, IN.
Morgan Riessen ’16
Director of Alumni Relations
Morgan has served at Taylor since she graduated in 2016. Prior to her role as the Director of Alumni Relations, she served as the Coordinator of Visit Services in the Admissions Office. Morgan lives in Upland and enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, and being outdoors.
Amanda (Schaffer ’02) Wilson
Director of Special Projects
Amanda has worked in the Taylor Alumni Office since January of 2010, first as the Director of Parent Programs and currently as the Director of Special Projects, supporting various projects throughout the Office of University Advancement. Amanda graduated from Indiana University in 2009 with her MA in Philanthropic Studies and her MPA in Nonprofit Management. She and her husband, Jesse, live in Noblesville, IN, where they enjoy raising their children, being a part of Harvest Bible Church North Indy, and enjoying whatever adventure comes their way.
Andrea Baker ’17
Program Assistant of Alumni and Parent Relations
Andrea has worked in the Taylor Alumni Office since November 2017, as the Program Assistant of Alumni and Parent Relations. Prior to this, she spent the fall of 2017 as a Traveling Admissions Recruiter. Andrea currently resides in Upland and has enjoyed getting involved in Grant County.
Michael D. Mortensen ’91
Director of Fort Wayne Alumni and Friend Relations/Director of Scholarships
Michael directs Taylor’s Fort Wayne Alumni Center caring for Taylor alumni from Fort Wayne Bible College, Summit Christian and TUFW by connecting and celebrating. He and his team including Stephanie Demorest ’93, office manager, and their nearly 100 volunteers serve alumni and plan activities and reunions, raise support for the Fort Wayne Alumni Center, and maintain the Fort Wayne campus archives. Michael has worked for Taylor in multiple alumni and advancement roles since June 1997.
He lives in Fort Wayne with his wife, Christine (La Rue ’92), and their children.
